Zalman Reserator 2 Fanless Water Cooling

The ambient temp is 75C? You live in hell (too)?

    2,000W Power Supply anyone?

Major suckage but I can understand their point. Are there going to be any internal changes to the X-3 1.6KW or will it still be the same monster? (I sort of know the answer to this but others reading this thread might not).

Zalman Reserator 2 Fanless Water Cooling

Interesting that they added a relay, would've been nice to see that in the V 1.2 that I reviewed a while back. Great read BTW, nice to see that it does the job well. One suggestion, the stock coolant at the ratio that Zalman recommended ended up gumming up the D5 I had plumbed it with, you might...

Researching cases/power supplies for new clients

If that Antec has anything other than the NeoHE PSU in it I'd say take a pass on the case PSU combo. Antec's CWT based power supplies have been suffering an extremely high mortality rate as of late. The CWT based units are the Neo 480, Smart Power and True Power series.

    SilverStone TJ09

Actually it'll handle it very well. The res can set on top of the fan duct, the pump between the duct and the PSU and the rad can fit in the roof with an adapter I'm going to be building in the worklog I'll be putting up in the forums.

    SilverStone TJ09

Thanks :) The TJ09 is quite the work of art in my opinion. The options are really limitless as far as cooling goes.

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

Hostile? Why on earth do you think that? I'm just saying that if you do the math for yourself you'll see that it's nowhere near the 200W all the alarmists are stating. I think the PSU MFG's are in the dark as to the real wattage consumed by the G80's since nVidia isn't very forthcoming in...

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

Read it here... The XTX and the GX2 both use about the same wattage and that's 125W. Do the math yourself.

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

Funny, but testing by independent sites has shown that it uses a little more than 20W over the 7950GX2 which is a 125W card. That's on DX9 and I haven't seen if DX10 will change that but as there are no DX10 games as of now it's a "wait and see" sort of thing.

Ultra X-Finity FlexForce 500W Power Supply

Are you sure the switch is on on the PSU? I know, stupid question but I have to ask. Look in the manual on how to jump the PSU (since there's no colors to the wires) and jump the PSU on wire to a ground and see if the PSU powers on. If not RMA it. Ultra is really good and will advance ship you a...

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

Sorry Rob but the 8800GTX uses around 145W each, not 200W.

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

When would you need a KW or higher PSU? Um, dual quad core CPU's, dual 8800GTX's in SLI and more hard drives than one man can lift alone. Other than 10 HDD's and the aforementioned 8 core setup with 8800GTX's in SLI you won't need anything over 900W. Actually, you don't need that much but...

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

The 900W version will be more than enough for you even with SLI 8800GTX's so you'll be good.

Prozac is for anxiety attacks which it looked like you were having. Valium is too but it's a bit debilitating so I suggest Prozac over it ;) But yeah, you're fine with the Tagan, it's not a bad unit as long as you avoid cross connecting the 12V lines.

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

My god...calm down a bit. The ENTIRE SYSTEM requires a 450W PSU with 30A on the 12V rail. That's shared amongst the CPU, drives, fans, mobo, water pump if there is one and everything else plus the GPU so having 4-20A rails is more than enough. Take a Prozac and relax a bit. The 8800GTX uses at...

    Thermaltake Toughpower Modular 750W PSU

That's there to force the air flow to act more like a fan laid out in a linear fashion from front to back. It deflects the air causing it to flow from the front of the PSU to the back. If you had a cut-away of the PSU looking at it from the side you'd see that the opening in the fan is in the...

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

Most power supplies have one transformer that feeds out to the various rails via OCP (over current protection) per virtual rail, In the case of the 1100 I reviewed it has two transformers that fead two rails each which is why the ripple was so strange. I'm guessing the switch turns the OCP on...

    PNY PR Horrors

Hey Mike, how's it going? Yeah, PNY used to be a good company to deal with and that's the real tragedy here. I had that same exact card, the purple PCB was pimp wasn't it? Back in those days they didn't jack people around nor their resellers but as you've likely seen in this thread they're...

    Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W Power Supply

It was about 80mV at full load with a strangely oscillating waveform. If you're considering combining rails on one I'd really advise against it. The ripple on each rail at 20A per rail was a rather clean 40-50mV which is well under spec and there was no oscillation in the waveform either. What...
