How are the partitions formatted? Have you tried Gparted Live (the bootable iso)?

I hate how slow IE is to implement new features and standards - HTML5, for instance - if they choose to implement them at all. Firefox, Chrome, etc have it done way ahead of Microsoft.

Actually, I'll admit I did LFS once before, and was successful. Foolishly, I didn't backup my toolchain, or the system, and decided on a whim to install ArchLinux or something over it. :o I have a bunch of stuff on the go right now. Not sure if I'll get to this or not.

I think I'm going to give this a try. This site http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/ has detailed instructions on custom-building your own Linux system from scratch. I wonder what the best way to do it would be ... new partition or inside a VM?

I'm very excited about HTML5 and WebGL. Like you said, the less javascript, but more importatnly, less plugins (Flash, etc).
