Quick impression of the HAF X

That's a sharp looking case. I don't know how I feel about that much plastic but it's deffinately a looker on the inside.

Using different overclocking settings with CrystalCPUID

BTW Freeman, what are your Aquamark scores up to these days? :D:D:D

Using different overclocking settings with CrystalCPUID

I haven't ever been a fan of in-OS clocking tools but if you have had success with it, that's awesome. I haven't ever heard of this program but might give it a try, just to kick it around. Good post!

Has StarCraft II Become the Most Expensive Game Ever Developed?

Hell yeah. I'm probably going to do something similar but I have to be honest, I haven't ever been a huge Star Craft fan. I enjoyed playing it LAN in college but it's not one of my favs. I'm praying for another good Command and Conquer. That's a RTS that I can play for days.

Who Rules the SSD World Right Now?

I'm hesitant to speak in absolutes but I doubt we ever see $1 per GB SSDs. I don't know about production costs between the two but we haven't even been close to that on SDRAM and that's volitile memory. It might just be the nature of the beast that we never see prices similar to platter based...

AMD to Soon Drop Graphics Card Prices?

I think we all pretty much knew this was going to happen but hooray for price drops. I've been using the same GTX 260 for a while now and I'd love to upgrade it in the next 3-4 months.

Has StarCraft II Become the Most Expensive Game Ever Developed?

Bring on Diablo III damn it. Let's get Star Craft out of the way and get to the awesome. 100M is a ton of money but I bet they make it back in little time. This is a AAA title.

    iPhone: Fail.

I'm not pro or anti Apple. I'm simply admiring them for taking an almost unwinnable situation and making the absolute most out of it. The iPhone is a hell of a device that after using for almost two years, I don't think I could live without. Actually, I could live without it, but not a smart...

    Antec Three Hundred v2

I have a pair of those cases for servers and I cannot begin to throw enough praise at them. That is a very solid build you have there, kudos for the clean look. With such little space between the video card and the fan, is there any noticeable increase in sound? It seems like with such little...

    iPhone: Fail.

Having just said all that, this QA session is BRUTAL.

    iPhone: Fail.

You really can't argue the data presented. Agree with it or not, Apple did a fantastic job of blanketing themselves against a lot of the criticism they have received. Not only did they present fact after fact countering the complaints, they extended an olive branch in the form of a free bumper...

    Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5

Issuing a blanket statement like yours, that the reviewer knows nothing about overclocking, isn't quite fair. He clearly states that this is his first foray into overclocking with the 890FX chipset. Even if you disagree with the overclocking results, perhaps even the methodology, there are...

Who Rules the SSD World Right Now?

I don't know about a 1TB for $100, we just reached that on platter based storage but you aren't too far off Stork. I have been bouncing around the idea of getting an SSD and have been between Crucial and Corsair. I'm still on the fence but as soon as a fast and reliable 256GB drive drops below...

    Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5

Solid read. I don't know if I could personally justify shelling out almost 200 dollars for an AMD board but it does look like a good mobo. Gigabyte makes quality boards and if you're an AMD guy, with the price of their processors, I suppose this purchase could be a no brainer and the 890...

    iPhone: Fail.

As knee jerk as that sounds, extend your 6 months out to a year and we are getting into the regular product refresh cycle. We all know what today's press conference is going to be about, it's just a matter of how they are going to deal with it.

    iPhone: Fail.

Yeah, this issue is something that they just cannot ignore. They need to address it and will tomorrow (unless the quickly assembled press conference tomorrow is to announce a new iPod). I haven't had any issues with mine so far (going on a week of use) but if I wasn't handed this one from...

Thierry Henry leaves Barca for NY Red Bulls

MLS has some solid sponsors so while the popularity is clearly lacking, the money seems to be there. If I was a professional athlete, in my waning years, I would certainly consider joining a team where I could play in a league I could dominate. New York is great sports city as well. It kind...

I haven't heard of the festival but good music is good music. As long as it moves you, genre doesn't matter.

Intel Set to Launch New CPU Models this Summer, Including Six-Core i7-970

Three cheers for new models and progress but I haven't honestly found anything that pushes my i7 920. I would obviously love to have more cores but with it slightly overclocked to 3.0 GHz, I can see myself using this CPU for another year or two. It does everything that I could possibly ask.

    G.Skill Launches 24GB Memory Kit at DDR3-2000 CL8

Keep building out those VMs Rob and you'll push your current amount of memory :) For people to really use this much RAM, they almost need a multiple socket mother board with multi-core CPUs to push the envelope. I wonder how long it will take for this much RAM to be common on desktop...
