How long will it take this candle to burn down?

So I've had this foot tall candle in the closet for a while, and rediscovered it over the weekend as I was cleaning up. I decided to burn it instead of letting it rot, so for a fun challenge, I am taking guesses as to how long it'll take to burn straight through. I'm going to light it every evening for a couple of hours, perhaps four or five.

I'm the worst guesser ever, but I am going to say 30 days.

Go!

"In the news today, local man launched a contest to guess how long a candle would burn. Sometime while he was AFK the candle was nicked over by the cat into bottle of alcohol, where the apt then burned down. Authorities say the candle burnt out in 5 min after the fire started.Forum member Albatross was the closest wihtout going over"

Assuming no fires? 29 hours.

I guess I'm your grammar/phrase/spelling nazi. hahaha :D

Yes, yes you are.

Given how this candle is burning so far, it might well take 200 hours, unless it kills itself due to implosion (it's burning like 90% of the top surface, leaving the outer edge it seems).

I think Rob's guess of 30 days (x ~5) is closer than any other.

Aren't you worried your hardware will get gummed up with candle soot? :D

I'll update with another picture tomorrow. And as for the soot, we'll see once it's done :D

I've had to chop parts of the candle off so far because it was burning in the worst way. So because of that, it's rather ugly. I'd estimate that about 30% of the entire candle is gone, and so far the hour count is...

73 hours ;)

According to history of burning candles, it will never completely burn up, But for the sake of a guess, how many hours a day actually?
2,3 or 4 hours a day?:)

LOL........okay, my guess is that it is half way there. so another 6 days, or 73.9 + 70.1 = 144 hrs
