WHY NEWEGG WHY??

I need more RAM for my computer...only have 4GB right now and half of it is being used up from my sidebar gadgets and Steam running...Newegg has a shellshocker deal going on right now (for about another 45 minutes): 8GB of Corsair XMS RAM (2 x 4GB), which is the exact RAM I have currently...for $65 after MIR, normally $95. Reason I'm upset is...I'm in the process of switching banks (current one is out of my way to get to) so I emptied my account last week and I only have cash...GAHHHH. T_T

*EDIT*

Well, nevermind. It's for 1333, and I have 1600. *whew*

They do have BillMeLater, and you get a discount for using that... just make sure to pay it off before you get sacked with the interest charge. For the next time your in such a predicament. :D

You'd be surprised what can be done by tweaking as well. I'm using Tuneup Utilities 2011 and I've deactivated services I don't use, programs I don't want to boot during startup. It also lowers priority of processes that don't require that much priority from the CPU at the moment, and raises priority for processes who do. I've seen my setup idle around 650 megs ram usage with Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I've only got 2 gigs of ram, but that seems fine for me so far. That's with Aero still enabled :) I'm sure you can even go further using the classic skin, but I like a bit of appearance.

Ya might do so and get some credit history going! But anyway BillMeLater doesn't require a credit card, they do require a bank account though unless they've changed since I last read up on it.

Thanks awfully lol! Did I scare you? haha! Well the thing is you realize how much unneeded RAM Windows eats up with services and stuff you don't really use.. So alot can be done by tweaking as well. Not bad to have some extra RAM though ;) I'm still not satisfied with the efficiency of Windows when it comes to performance.. Thankfully there are some nice tweaking tools available. Still it's not as good as a Linux based OS when it comes to performance.
