Yeah, I know it’s a day late but I just got off work. Rob gave a shout to Bradley Nowell from Sublime on the anniversary of his death and I would like to do the same for 2Pac. I listened a lot to his music in high school and a lot of his music wasn’t "stereo typical rap." A lot of it was intelligent and to the point and I always appreciated that.

Tis all. If you agree let me know. If not, “Stop frontin’ mother ****er, let then thangs go.”

In any event, here's a well-known poem he wrote at 18:

"In the event of my Demise
when my heart can beat no more
I Hope I Die For A Principle
or A Belief that I had Lived 4
I will die Before My Time
Because I feel the shadow's Depth
so much I wanted 2 accomplish
before I reached my Death
I have come 2 grips with the possibility
and wiped the last tear from My eyes
I Loved All who were Positive
In the event of my Demise"

I cannot believe it's been 10 years... unbelievable. Tupac was one of the few rappers I actually enjoyed, for the reasons Greg pointed out. They were intelligent lyrics and even inspiratonal. We needed more of that in the hip hop world, and pac delivered.

Holy crap, how did I miss this thread? Although it's late, let Tupac Amaru Shakur rest in peace.

Here's one of my personal poems from Tupac.

"The Rose That Grew From Concrete"

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.

Just like Talib Kweli said in his song 'Listen'
Real hip-hop is missin from the shelves...

Tupac shares a trait with Jimi Hendrix, he's released more albums after his death than before. Bizarre that these guys recorded so much music that they just said "Screw it, I'll bin it for now". Fortunate for their fans though.
