Trouble Sleeping? Your Gadgets Could be to Blame

Are you able to remember the last time you had a truly good night's sleep, and woke up feeling refreshed and renewed? If it's been so long that you can't even remember, it could be that you fall asleep with a bright gadget in your face. At least, that's J.D. Moyer's theory, which he came to strongly believe after trying a few experiments that effectively tricked his mind.

Definitely agree with the idea in general, although not sure about the specific root cause. I can sleep during the night or daytime and feel well-rested. The quality of my rest is affected by the the steadiness of the light, if it changes or flickers I actually can't go to sleep or don't sleep well.

Also if the room is dark, any sort of glare or glow I can discern through my eyelids is almost equally distracting, I'm unusually light sensitive and can tell when any LED on any device is flickering or pulsing in the room. Hence why I hate flashing and superbrite LEDs unless I can disable them. Yet daylight or a constant room light doesn't bother me anymore, go figure. ;)

I am very light sensitive so I can agree with this without problem. The only light source in my bedroom is the TV, but my wife has a bad habit of sleeping lightly and turning hte damn thing on in the middle of the night waking ME up. I also have a large window that isn't properly shaded next to my bed and that has me up usually around 6AM no matter how tired I am. Time for some new shades and a TV removal in my bedroom after reading this. I almost always wake up cranky, lol.

What's ironic is that if my TV isn't going when I'm sleeping, I can't sleep. Fallout from being unemployed, unable to find work due to an injury and having my marriage fail all at the same time.
