Steven Page leaves the Barenaked Ladies

I might sound a little ignorant, but I'm not sure how big the Barenaked Ladies ever got in the United States, but it's a band I grew up with, and I recall singing their songs even when I was just nine-years-old ("If I Had $1,000,000" for the win!), and I consider some of their songs to be integral parts of my growing up and life in general ("This Old Apartment", "Brian Wilson", "Shoebox" among many others are true classics).

Sadly, Steven Page, the lead singer of the band for over 20 years, has left the band. As far as I know, the only other singer ever was Ed Robertson, so I'd imagine he'd step up to the plate and take over Steven's vocals and become the lead singer going forward. Sad day though... the band will not be the same without him.

I know of the Barenaked Ladies band simply because quite a few 90's comedies poked fun at, directly referenced, or I believe used their music. The Money Pit comes to mind just as one... :D

I think they were a well-known group in the US, but I'm definitely not the best person to know. ;)

Hah, didn't know about the comedies to poke fun at the band. There's a few songs that might have become popular in the US... such as "One Week". I'd link to some music videos if YouTube actually had some. The band's record label must be gung-ho with making sure they don't appear online.

They also do the theme song for the show, "The Big Bang Theory", but I'm not sure who here watches it. I do from time to time, but the lead character is such an idiot, he makes me curse more than he makes me laugh, haha.
