AMD's Radeon HD 5850 may not be the company's highest-end card, but it still packs a wicked punch. Plus, when overclocked, and overclocked well, it can come close to the peformance of the top-end HD 5870. With the design of Sapphire's Toxic graphics card, hitting heights like this seem to be made all too simple.

FYI the Toxic card uses a Vapor-X cooler. Your article didn't point this out but current information from Sapphire states this to be true.

I don't quite understand Sapphire. I noticed on the box that it said Vapor-X cooler, but I didn't think too much of it. I didn't think it was a real Vapor-X cooler, because it didn't look like any other I took a look at before. Plus to make matters worse, Sapphire's Vapor-X HD 5850 has the same cooler. So what's the difference? The company shouldn't be so confusing about things like this... their line-up in this regard makes no sense.

That aside, it's unfortunate that this is an official Vapor-X cooler. It becomes the first one we've taken a look at that hasn't impressed us in terms of cooling performance.

Given that they don't give a single detail about how they measure temps or even push the card hard, I can almost guarantee that they use a weaker method than we do. I have never found anything more effective than OCCT, which not only makes the GPU's hotter than any other tool, but also gives us the highest power draws.

It's kind of an exaggerated take on things, but I'd rather give results for the worst case than the best case.
