Nvidia 8800 GTS 512mb G92 Question??

So i'm building a new machine based off of EVGA's 780i board and Wolfdale E8400

and I'm trying to figure out which graphics card to go with.....

I liked the look of the 8800GTS G92, but as I was perusing NVIDIA's site I noticed a foot note that said:

"A GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB must be paired with another GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB, regardless of graphics card manufacturer to enable SLI technology. "

I might be misreading this, but is it saying it's impossible for these cards to be run solo? Or is it only saying you have to have 2 for SLI mode to be enabled?

Please let me know because I don't plan on doing SLI (for now).

Furthermore, I was wondering about opinions on this card? Bang for Buck? Is it worth it, etc?

Any advice is appreciated as always

You can run them "SOLO" all day long with no problems...........;)

What they are says is that if you plan on running SLI, they have to be paired with a like GPU based card.

IMOH the cards themselves totally rock, about the best bang for your buck out there, but that's just MHO.

I have the same setup here, I went with 2 8800GT 512mb ( G92 ) in SLI.
And yes, you can just use one if you like. make sure it is in the PCIe #1 slot ( upper most to CPU )
You'll like the E8400 and the EVGA 780i combo, good choice.
