New car stereo system

Okay so my speakers AND stereo are going dead sooooo I need a new setup. I don't want anything too fancy or expensive but I just want it to sound good. My neighbor has Pioneer equipment in his Mustang and it sounds AMAZING. So with that, I've searched up some speakers and a cd player. here's what I got:

CD Player

Rear Speakers

Front Speakers

total comes out to around $140.

I don't know about changing the wires, I might have to, since it's the stock wires...from '92...lol.

looks nice, the wires probably will be fine unless they have shorts in them or other problems like that.

Actually just bought a CD receiver off of Crutchfield.com. found a newer model of that receiver for $4 cheaper than the one on ebay, along with a dash kit, antenna adapter and speaker harness adapters. :p

alright the CD receiver came in Monday and I installed it right away and ohhhhh it sounds so beautiful. I set the fade to rear to see how it sounds on just the rear speakers and....no sound. checked and re-checked the wires and they are all hooked up properly. apparently my rear speakers have been dead for some time. maybe that's why I could never get any real bass output......

I put in a Dream Theater CD on the way back from college today, and had it pretty loud with the loudness setting on high. Let's just say my stock '92 AC Delco speakers did NOT agree with A Nightmare to Remember. the song came on with a low bass note and all i heard was BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR out of the speakers. I was like "okayyyyyy next song..you don't like that one"

the new speakers are bought and should be here tomorrow, i'll install it and post pics! (warning you, my car is not the prettiest thing in the world, but hey, it was free and it gets me to work and college :D)

ok I don't know why I didn't do this before...but I never measured the rear speakers to see what size they were...they're 6x9...not the 5.25" rounds I bought...LOL. soooo I rigged a mount up and plugged them in and they definitely don't sound the greatest..i need those 6x9's..haha :p

but on the other hand the front speakers sound amazing :D

*EDIT*

Just got a used pair of 6x9's from a best buy outlet on ebay for about $47 total with shipping and tax. Gonna return the 5.25"s for store credit since they don't offer money back :(

Alright, it is all installed! Sorry, don't have pics for the front speakers, forgot to take them when I installed them and didn't feel like taking the door panels off again. lol. anyway, here's the rear speaker setup:

Stock Speakers
5.25" Speakers (ordered by mistake)
Rigged Stock 6x9" adapter to fit 5.25" (Added strips of wood to them)
New 6x9" Speakers
Took the lower back seat out. found LOTS of stuff under it, including about $2.50 in change :D
Rear Deck with the new speakers bolted in.

When I tested these, HOLY SNAP. THEY ARE AMAZING. I had my sound at 35 out of 60 and played "Monster" by Skillet and I could feel the bass in my back and the sound was crystal clear. I LOVE THESE! :D
