Mozilla Suggests Dropping Google for Bing

Earlier this week, I linked to one of the rare news stories that burns me up on the inside. It featured the CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, and an asinine comment, where he essentially stated that if you're looking for privacy, you're probably doing something wrong. Hopefully it's not too hard to understand why this comment is a little foolish. People should be entitled to their privacy, regardless of what they're doing.

I agree, there seems to be a lot Zing to Bing and I really like it a lot. It looks and performs wonderfully. I really don't like to limit myself to one of anything, but I find, that out of habit, I keep going back to Google.

Personally, even though still in beta, Hakia and Kartoo show a lot of promise and I try to use them as much as I can as well, but old habits, I must admit, is a hard thing to break for this old dog. If you have yet to try them, by all means do, as I think that you'll probably find them, for betas anyway, very rich and functional in their current state, and that they will mature very fast, as I find them seemingly getting better every time I use them.

PS, the main kartoo site seems to be down, so here's another link that seems to be working: http://ww5.kartoo.com/flash04.php3

I must be getting old or something...

I just checked Bing out and didn't like it. The picture is a distraction from your reason for being there and the easter eggs are just plain silly. In fact most of the eggs read like highschool gossip. Searching with Bing is no better than with Google. In fact Bing still doesn't find a lot of stuff Google does...

Google still wins by taking me directly to what I want to do...
(although I'm not fond of all the other crap that goes on there, either).

I think the more developed Bing gets, the more the likely hood that we will all be satisfied with it.

The more we shun it though, the less likelyhood that we will ever adopt it, since the thing does track what we liked from our search, and not just what we clicked.
