There are really one two choices for mobile gaming platforms at this point. You can go with the DS or the PSP. Anyone have one or the other and if so, what are you thought on the advantages and disadvantages that each one has?

I am not one to talk, but I'll chime in. I believe neither console is that good when looking at the big picture. The DS is the better of the two for the sole fact that it has a wide selection of good games. On the other hand, developers love being douchebags and split the gameplay over both screens. This gripe may just be me, but when I want to play a game, I hate looking from one screen to the next.

The other downside is that Nintendo believes that bad graphics is a surefire way to sell products, and so far it's been the truth. Then we have the PSP which has vastly superior graphics and a horrible game line-up. It's a true lose/lose for either console as far as I am concerned.

Still in the end, I'd pick up the DS, because games matter more than anything else.

I own a PSP, but I'm not up to speed on the game Library. I own GTA:Liberty City Stories and can say that it's great, and I've heard that the Tekken game is freaking awesome, but most of the games I play on the PSP are SNES games being run on SNES TTYL. It's like having all the awesome games I grew up playing right in my pocket.

The One, The Only...
The real thing here is... Do you want graphics? Do you want the internet? Do you want a lot of games? Only answer one to one of these.

The first two = yes, then you want a PSP
The third = Yes, Then you want a DS

I posted some interesting things you can do with a DS in the iphone thread... And it has come to my attention that there were actually more things you can do these days. I highly suggest reading em. And I suppose ill link the friend of mine who just registered to this thread now... If he feels like it, he will tell you how vastly superior the DS is.

the DS has alot of good games, the PSP is good for homebrew and a few games if you casually play. The PSP will not last in games though anywhere near the DS.

I've owned both, and can happily say that both are incredible systems, but work for completely different gamer-styles.

The PSP, I found, is all about the flashier games that you can happily sit down and play for hours at a time. You have your movies, your homebrews, MP3's for when ye olde player is dead, and an interweb browser for when you're bored at work. ;)
The DS, on the other hand, is a lot better for just popping open on a bus, train, or traffic light, and nipping quickly away at a puzzle or a quick level. The games tend to be a lot simpler, as we all know, but often put more focus into the gameplay and replayability... if it's even a word.
