In my opinion, I would only spend the extra money on a Mac if I were to do photo/video or music processing/editing. Other than that, PC's can do basically anything a Mac can, at a fraction of the cost. I can go to Apple's website and build a MONSTER Mac Pro (desktop) maxed out on everything (2 x Intel i7 quad-core processors, 64gb of RAM, 4x Nvidia GTX (I forget which ones) GPUs, PCIe audio processing card, and some other stuff. Final price = $16,000 + shipping.
I can go onto newegg and build something like that for about half that price, maybe less, AND add on a full 1080p monitor.
Indeed, Apple products are WAY overpriced. Another example, I found (hard to believe, I know) an iPod Shuffle...outside Food City on the parking lot...lol. it's one of the newer models where you need to have the special Apple headphones with the buttons on them to navigate through your songs. Went to Amazon, guess how much the earbuds cost new? $50.

NO WAY am I paying that much for uncomfortable earbuds that are just going to break in a couple months. I can get an adapter with the required buttons on it AND it allows me to use any earbuds I want to...for $20. If you're gonna pay that much for headphones or earbuds, invest in some Skullcandy.
