There are a lot of technologies out there I feel that I couldn't go without, but there are few that compare to wireless. Wires are just no fun. I can't recall the number of times I'd move my feet under a desk and end up hauling the keyboard or mouse right off the tray. It's aggravating. Plus, wires just look like a mess... and don't even get me started with the tangling!

This 1st thing and dominant issue I have with wireless is battery life ... but 3 years!!?!?!

$100 is a little higher than I want to pay, but my keyboards & mouse are 5 or 6 or 7 years old ... at least. So maybe I will live on the edge & get this when available in the US.

$100 is still a little expensive? Is there a wireless combo out there that costs less than this? I honestly have no idea, but I'd be interested in taking a look at it. I do agree that $100 is a lot, but nowadays that seems to be an easy-to-swallow price given the price of peripherals today. The mouse I'm using on this PC is $60 alone, and the keyboard is $30. So for another $10 I could have had a nice wireless kit.

I agree on the battery-life... talk about an amazing feature. To just install it and not have to virtually ever worry about it (even one-year battery-life would be nice).

3 years battery life is insane. lol.
I had a microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse (I forgot which model, its the exact same one Michael Scott from the Office uses) and it annoyed the hell out of me between battery changes and signal getting interrupted most of the time.

I don't think the price is that bad for the specs it has. I mean 3 years of battery life alone. sheesh. That's pretty damn impressive. Although, If I had another wireless setup, I probably won't bother getting out of bed on the weekends. haha.

I have never had good experiences with Microsoft wireless products in general... I don't know what it is. That company is huge, yet it seems to have a rough time with its peripherals. Once in a while it will release something totally worth buying, but most often, gah. I had a notebook wireless mouse from Microsoft that I could barely get connected to the computer half of the time. I ended up just throwing it out.

I like their wired Mouse. I prefer it over Logitech's as MS is more durable and can take my heavy fingers. lol. Logitechs last me about a year before I break the left click.

yeah the wireless signal for microsoft was ridiculous. Sometimes it couldn't find the keyboard when the transmitter was right in front but I could use it when I was on the other end of the room. It was made of very squeaky and cheap looking plastic as well. Even the basic logitech $12 dollar keyboard looked so much better than it.

Ahh, so you're one of those people who prefer their mouse lasts longer than a year ;-)

Since I give my mouse such heavy usage, it doesn't make me flinch when I need to upgrade after six months or so. For me, the keyboards get hit the worst. I can't stand it when dirt gets in between the keys, and at that point, it's easier to just pick up another $30 Logitech offering from the local B&M than to clean it.

The problem you describe with the Microsoft keyboard is exactly like the one I had with my mouse. It just wouldn't connect, and even to this day I have no idea what exactly would cause it to start working again. It's far from fun having to deal with a mouse like that.
