I found this kind of interesting:

It seems that Just Cause 2 won't support Windows XP. Well, not support may be poor wording, because it's not just going to not support it, but it's not going to work at all. It can be assumed that this is because its minimum DirectX version will be 10, which XP of course doesn't support.

I'm curious to see how common this will be to see over the course of the following year.

Very interesting to hear! But perhaps not so surprising... not only does this mean they can completely skip development/troubleshooting DX9 systems and DX9 GPUs (which work completely differently anyway), but it even simplifies the minimum hardware issue.

Steam's January survey shows XP lost another 2%, it is steadily losing 2% a month in OS share and if this rate remains steady Windows 7 will surpass it well before the end of this year. But more importantly, it shows that already 50% of the systems surveyed are fully DX10 capable.

I cannot help but add it is time for XP to fade away as even Vista is better in my opinion at this point because the ONLY reason Microsoft is even supporting XP at all is the corporate environment. I guarantee that MS does not even want to continue retail home user support on XP as they can make more off of Vista or 7. But any way you look at it, XP had its day and that day is now long past.

Not suprised. Why anyone would keep XP over win 7 is mind boggling. Now the transistion to vista I could understand, you had to have one hell of a machine to support it correctly, but I'm not sad to see things like this. Its time to move on.

.....I don't think I've actually seen an Xp system in quite a while, outside of the systems that my college use.....
