You've used it before? I can't even tell what brand it is by looking at it. That in itself makes me skeptical.

http://www.dvico.com/company/e_dvico.asp

It's a global company that makes a lot of video products.
This HD card was just released this month.
Quite a few of us from work have been waiting for the HD cards to come out for a year. And finally it's released.
And even better, a surprise to me, it's available for 64 bit OS and is formulated to work with Media Center.

When I get it installed. I'll post some results....should be here Thursday the 24th.

Seems the company is in Port Richy, FLa.
UPS is shipping standard ground, so it should be here the 22nd instead of 24th.
This puppy has the latest technology in TV cards. you dont hear much from this company, because it is very high end, they dont compete with Creative or ATI.....but yet they could with the prices they have.

I've wanted to start recording my Dish when I'm not home, the PVR is handy but it's stuck on that damn receiver. Would this be a good card to start with? I'm smart enough to figure it out but I might not have the patience if I have to wait for things to happen. I spose I'll need another 750gb for the new season of Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers.

Btw: I hate commercials more than I hate my ex-wife, can you take them out easily with software?

The commercials are taken out with software, I believe......never had it so I really dont know for sure.
Four of us at work have been waiting for the high def cards to mature to a point, which is now.
Most cards record and sense the cable connection, although you could set it up for just channel three. But this card is a little more than a device to record, it decodes digital signals with a SamSung 56nm 16 gig chip, one of the latest chips to come out, in fact Feb. 2008 is when it was released.

On a dish network, you could use this or any other card to record your shows. Using chan 3 or 4 whichever you use.
You could get a card for that for very resonable, say around 26.xx USD

26 bucks? It will be worth getting two so I can install one and take my frustration out on the other. Do you need to change channels with the receiver? And this will just be like a TV that gets whatever is being output from the source.

You can connect cable TV or connect from the box reciever, whatever channel you broadcast to the TV, you broadcast to the card

Check the out Here
