Gaming PC - on a Budget!

So, madstork91 recommended that I come in here and seek some help with the new PC Im trying to build on a tight budget. Im a gaming enthusiast (play MMO's), and Warhammer has my current rig on slideshow (old processor, not much memory, 'decent' graphics card etc.), so Im upgrading. Kind of a computer newb, so pardon if any of this sounds completely clueless. ;)

Here it goes:

Im trying to put this baby together in the range of $650-700, give or take a few, but Im not having much luck for my expensive taste.

Let me know if you guys agree the following specs are the best bang for my buck, or if I could go better/cheaper in certain areas while still keeping prices down. Any recommended sites would also be appreciated.

Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro ATX Intel (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131299) $130.00
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5GHz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115055) $165.00
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GTX 260 896mb GDDR3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130398) $210.00
Memory: 4GB Corsair DDR2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184) $45.00
Power: Apex 600W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817154023) $75.00
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 500GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148395) $60.00

Case & Fans: I have no idea...?:confused:

Any help or guidance to making this thing any cheaper while keeping the specs relatively the same is much appreciated.

The One, The Only...
Welcome to the lowest circle of he... er... Hello. Welcome to Techgage. ;-p

Looks like a solid build to me man.

For the rest of you reading this, I figured instead of him emailing me the spec's I would simply have him post them and get him started on the path to the dark side. (Hardware)

He works from home, so this build will be something he plays with every day. Figured it was time for him to learn the ways of teh haxorz!

Try this GPU. Its identical except $10 cheaper and comes with CoD WaW too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130434

I don't know anything about Apex brand units, for that price I'd recommend a well-respected brand. Either

OCZ GameXstream 600W $70 AMIR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341001

Corsair 650W $80 AMIR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

Cases can be a tricky thing... every time I think I find a perfect case its not so perfect after I use it for six months! The case is in some ways as important as the monitor... you have to work with it/use it daily or when working on the PC, and it will also typically outlive the first computer built inside it. The Cooler Master 932 HAF is where ya might begin looking though, and go from there.

I agree with Kougar on his choices... both would be solid replacements. Note that the CPU you linked to is actually the Q8200, but it's still a fine CPU. If you don't mind overclocking, you could hit 3.0GHz on it no problem, without any real risk.

Chassis' aren't a good one for me. It's really hard to add one to a build and not jack up the price. We just took a look at two stellar Cooler Master chassis' that are well-priced, but they aren't available yet. It really depends on what you are looking for. Sometimes, the style is more important than features. Feel free to browse and point out which ones you like and run them by us.

I agree though, the HAF 932 is a really popular favorite, so it's worth checking out.
