I haven't seen any motherboards favor specific manufacturer GPUs so far, and would highly doubt ASUS would be the first to do so. Why do ya ask?

I was just curious, since some boards are made for Crossfire and others for SLI.
If there is a difference there, then it seems there may be other differences.
That's why I was asking
My MSI Crossfire board for the AMD 6400+ AM2 has one ( 1 ) 8800GT and there is a intermitant flicker on anything displayed

It's just marketing spiel. Just as some memory is "made for SLI" or "made for ATI" (as some of OCZ's sticks are branded with) it doesn't really mean anything.

A board could be made for Crossfire or SLI simply by placing the PCIe 16x slots in the most optimum positions for dual-slot cards. To date I've not seen a single test or review that found evidence of a chipset favoring any particular brand of GPU. If it can support SLI then it can support Crossfire, and vice-versa, as long as the graphics drivers are written to allow it.

I'd highly suspect the flicking on your 8800GT is due to something else, but the possibilities are rather numerous. Does it cease flickering when you plug an ATI GPU into it?
