After EA was paid a visit from an investor, plans for strategic "Premium Downloadable Content" came to light. Analyst Michael Pachter wrote that "PDLC would be sold for $10 or $15 through Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, and would essentially be a very long game demo, along the lines of 2009's Battlefield 1943." As to avoid confusion, EA stated that, "None of the proposals call for charging consumers for traditionally free game demos."

I don't agree with any form of charging for part of the game. Premium level and quality demos SHOULD be the standards on a free format so you give customers a reason to buy your product.

Example, take oh need for speed shift. Now THAT was a quality demo. You had a fair amount of racing you could do, and got to choose from a decent amount of cars.

or for example, take, the original F.E.A.R. Allow a demo that, perhaps spawned over the entire game but as you got to a certain checkpoint where normally you would just continue on, say it flashes you into the middle of another level, so the player doesn't get spoiled by story line, nor know where they are in the game, and they experience what made the game so popular.
