No DVI = no future proofing. And also means that there will be some issues when watching copyrighted material once highdef content on Vista becoems avliable. And mark my words, the copyright flagging on media in Vista wont end at highdef...it will be plastered everywhere from Quicktyime movie trailers, to probibly even google video, or Youtube. It will get rediculasly out of control.
Anyway, enough politics.
The lack of a DVI on any LCD monitor IMHO, is inexcusable.
Equally inexcusable, is that Dell is selling a substandard outdated LCD panel technology, with an outdated interface, and still selling it for a premium price.
LCD panels are cheaper to manufacture then CRT's, cheaper to ship then CRT's, and from production start, to retail outlet sale, are cheaper by a wide margin from that of CRT bassed displays...so why on earth then are they still selling for up to (and somtimes above) twice the price of an equevilent CRT display?
It just doesnt make sence to me.
My next monitor will likely be an LCD type display, but will need to offer a little more value added insentive for future upgrades then what this monitor does. You really wouldent have to spend that much more money to get a considerably more future proof display (please note i said future proof, not feature rich, big difference).
