Corsair knows their stuff when it comes to performance memory, but how about power supplies? Despite the fact that they are new to the PSU market, they prove that they are not newbies. After taking a look at their HX620W, we walk away impressed.

You can read the full review here, and discuss it here.

nice review!(3 yrs late, lol!) well now i am definitley gonna go for the Corsair HX520. When i upgrade to a new GPU i.e! though i have heard some draw back bout Modular PSUs, 'The resistance of the modular interface reduces the performance of the power supply, because resistance causes voltages to drop.'

now me confused! :(

Your question is mostly a matter of preference. It's like audiophiles... they cannot stand listening to 256kps mp3s or even 320kbps mp3s in some cases, but for most people 320kbps is sufficient. In the case of power supplies, the same is true. It is BEST to have no breaks in the cable that modular connections impose as this does increase electrical resistence. But would this matter to the average person, not at all. It's a matter of being a purist... the benefits of modular cables are pretty large so my personal preference is a wash. But for a person that wants the absolute best, cleanest power they can give to their computer they would want a non-modular PSU. Just like an audiophile would want the best quality, lossless audio encoded file they could have for their music.

oh! well i am no purist or perfectionist type. Modular would be good, it will be much easier to do some cable management too!
