With the growth of CPUs, more cores mean more heat. We are constantly interested in new ways to keep our processors cool and the CoolIT Freezone appears to be just that, a new approach to keeping your CPU cool. Does it deliver?

You can read our 300th article here and discuss it here!

I wanted to congratulate you on your review, and especially thank you for the detailed photos during installation. As an absolute noob in this area, I found your review amongst all of the many others I have read to be the most helpful to me.

I agree completely, I have only built a couple of systems and was somewhat intimidated to try water cooling, your in depth explanations and pictures are excellent and simple for the casual reader to follow and understand. Keep up the good work

Voltage vs. heat

Ds,

I am curious as to how this handles extreme Oc'ing. For example, I have a 6400 on a factory cooler averaging 58 degress and 64 degrees at 60% load running at 3080 Mhz with only 1.328V, which is getting high. Considering a decent water cooling kit is near $200, I am considering this. Are you planning on having any OC test to see how far this can go? In other words, is heat the only issue or is overvoltage (within reasonable limits) also a issue. It seems everyone elsways talks about higher voltage equaling higher temps, as that is the only issue.
No other reviews address this issue.
Thanks,
Greg

The Tech Wizard
I have the Freezone installed and getting only moderate cooling.
Sean, ( from CoolIt ) has been in cantact frequently on this problem and has suggested for a RMA.
Tech support has been great so far...I'll soon send out the old one for them to see what the problem was.
It's a Great cooling system with a company that is concerned ofr their product.
The only thing I saw was where the mounting plate for the 120mm fan replacement has screws a little too long and would have dug into one of the cooling tubes, I just cut the screw shorter and all went fine.

This was a great review With detailed photos
Thanks,
Merlin
