CES might be long over, but it's still fresh in our minds. Greg takes a look back at what he enjoyed seeing the most including CoolITs booth, Dells XPS H2C, Logisys' booth, Novints amazing Falcon haptics controller and high-definition content.

You can read Gregs thoughts on CES here and discuss them here!

I hate to sound like an excited schoolgirl, but I plan on picking one of these up as soon as they become available, review sample or not. The tech demos were enough to sell me.. it would be a great product to show off to your friends and family.

There was one particular demo where there was a massive ball on the screen, and you were controlling a smaller ball. Well, the larger ball continually changed textures and goal was to push the smaller ball towards the larger one and actually "feel" the texture. Ice, sponge and sandpaper were a few. In the end, I was impressed by how realistic it was.

Yes... I can't wait ;)

Well, the Falcon isn't going to hit shelves for a few months as it is. As somewhat of a stop-gap, we are working with Novint to get an interview with Mr. Anderson, Novint's CEO, in the coming weeks so look for that. I personally hope that he can provide a bit more information for us than what we saw at the GDC and CES. Things like in house game support, not just mods build onto the exsisting game as well as accessories and anything else they might have in the works. The Falcon is deffinatly something to keep your eye on. I just hope it doesn't turn into a novalty peice that no one really needs.

Wait I don't quite get it. You hold onto the small ball tipped end on the Falcon and you can feel the textures of the big ball on the screen? How can the ball on the tip of the Falcon change its texture??

Naw, sorry. I meant the ball on the screen. The mechanics inside of the Falcon can change to effect how it will feel when you are moving it. It can either be real loose, or tough to move if the ball was being pushed into the sponge.

It's hard to explain... I didn't even understand it until I had a first-hand experience :/

So its like the feeling of sandpaper, sponge, etc. through a ball thats rubbing on it?

There must be a lot of moving parts in the Falcon..

Aye... you don't literally feel the texture, but you can "tell" that, that's what you are touching in the game. It's so hard to explain.. I think Greg would have a better time explaining it, hehe.
