I have such a love/hate relationship with S.T.A.L.K.E.R., because the entire series is one that I feel like I want to play, but once I get into the game, I lose all interest completely. The first in the series, Shadow of Chernobyl, had me hooked, but towards the end, I was getting bored. Then came along Clear Sky, a game I was really pumped for. It was a major let-down, with me giving up after about two hours. Rarely will I play a game where I will find myself completely stuck after such a small amount of time, but Clear Sky did it.
But here, we have Call of Pripyat right around the corner (well, no release date is announced), and I find myself excited again - for whatever reason. To add to that excitement are a collection of new DirectX 11 screenshots of the game which happen to be amazing. But, I am trying to not get my hopes up. Graphics mean nothing if the game is awful, like Clear Sky was.
