Winternals, the Texas software company known for programs such as ERD Commander 2005, has filed suit against electronics retailing giant Best Buy this week, claiming that the company has been using thousands of unlicensed copies of their software in stores across the nation. A judge has already granted a temporary restraining order against Best Buy, ordering them to refrain from using any unlicensed Winternals software.

Now it looks like Winternals has posted a survey for Best Buy former employees (http://www.winternals.com/survey/). Good stuff. I can't wait to see how this one pans out.

The One, The Only...
The sad part of it is... many companies do the same thing.

Where did best buy **** up? They attempted to license it, and get free training for people who were already using it and wouldn't keep their mouth shut about it. Then they pulled away from a deal that would have made the software comapany forget about them ever using it illegally. Someone high up in that company was either being ignorant, or thought they were being slick.
