Are Porn Downloaders the Most 'At Risk' for Being Fined?

We've talked a fair bit about file-sharing on the site before and the repercussions it can hold, but in all we've discussed, it's usually on the subject of music or movies. As it seems, though, it looks like those who really should be watching their backs are those who download pornography, as those cases seem to be far more successful.

The worst part of porn is the stuff you don't see. The human trafficking, kidnapping, rape, extortion, etc. I'm not saying all pornographers are guilty of these things, but these problems are rampant. There are sex slave houses in the US and Canada. Do some research. Forgive me for not feeling too sorry for these people.

These lawsuits are just another reason to not download porn!

It's clear to me that stuff like this goes on, but are you saying it also goes on where mainstream porn is concerned? I'm not familiar with the videos here, but it can be assumed that the actors/actresses aren't being forced into doing the films... if that were the case, I couldn't imagine piracy being the focus of the lawsuit here.

I could expect such things from certain companies, lesser known companies, but not well-known porn houses (not that I am exactly familiar with the industry).

Maybe the big houses here aren't so obviously breaking the law, but a lot of porn online comes straight from eastern european and Russian crime organizations. Particularly because Russia has not signed the Council of Europe Convention Against Trafficking in Human Beings and hasn't enacted appropriate laws, 50,000+ women (according to what I've read) are trafficked into eastern and western europe.

I realize this may be sort of off-topic, but it's hard to not mention.
