With Intel's launch of the original Core i7, codenamed "Nehalem", it introduced a feature to improve the top-end performance of the CPU's beyond their referenced clock speeds. Called Turbo, if a CPU is pushed hard, the CPU can automatically increase the frequency of one or more cores in order to deliver better overall performance. Though Intel doesn't state it as such, Turbo is equivalent to automatic overclocking.

thats the only way they'll be able to go head on with Intel! good choice!:D

It's because Intel seems to be one of the few companies that has perfected 32nm. The others can't, so they assumed it made more sense to scrap it and move the focus over to 22nm. Can't blame them, but still a strange thing to happen (Intel's R&D dollars paid off here).

So, how does this handle voltages and how is it any different than the lame options you get with most high end boards that "auto overclock"things?

Oh! good planning!
