SYSTEM IS RUNNING A LIL HOT!

Also make sure the side fan isn't blowing across the gpu fan - it's like sticking your head out of a car window and being unable to breathe fixed a few of those by just unpluging the fan

    Tiger vs. Crocodile

Not quite as bad as that, but my cat did give my cousin a black eye once Lucky he didn't get his eye ripped out :) For some reason he never teases the cats anymore......

    Diskeeper 10

if you check the report after an analysis what files are worst affected? there are a few files that are MEANT to be fragmented (the bad sector file will NEVER be defrag'd for instance as it is spread over every bad sector that is found) if you have a dual boot pc you can defrag some of these...

Core Duo 2 -- No Ide

Price !! Why are sata dvd's so expensive when the difference between ide hard drives and the equivalent ide drive is almost nothing? ---------------------------- One reason for IDE comes to mind Hard drive test programs don't like non-ide drives very much (maxtor's is probably the worst...

    ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi Edition

Just to be clear do you have 1 or 2 cards? (I'm not sure if you've just bought a second one and this message has just started to appear) If you have 2 cards, what are they? Where does the message appear? In the POST or in the systray after windows has started If it's in systray and you have...

    Steve Irwin dead

When I go, I hope it'll be quick like this I'm also gutted for the family - many years of trouble are to come for them The worst bit is that they don't realize yet how much it will hit them - after six years I still see someting cool and think to myself 'I gotta tell my mom about that' I...

    Steve Irwin dead

Be glad at least that it wasn't your family It's a hell of a lot worse for them If you feel bad, think how they must feel I feel more sorry for them than Steve - they've had a part of their life ripped out of them and it will take a long time to recover if they ever do Mainly you just learn to...

    Unique Hardware

You're lucky I couldn't even leave the lights on :p But, I have a really cool swivel/tilt webcab that tracks movement - it's pointed outside the house at the driveway and you wouldn't belive how many people stop and move about to see it following them :D Though, it's main use is to see...

Core Duo 2 -- No Ide

And with the growing amount of motherboards that have only one ide socket - we're going to need sata dvd drive pretty soon I'm not that bothered with them using a sata-ide converter chip though, it's cheap, easy and who cares about latency off a dvd - they're so slow that you can't tell the...

    Maxtor being cut in half

So far I've had to destroy about 25% of the maxtor drives we bought (company policy), about 30 so far and counting... All maxtor 300Gb drives both sata and pata Usually they fail after 2 months I'm not going to buy anything else from them for the forseable future - we've wasted too much money...

Hybrid hard drives soon to become commonplace?

No, the idea is that as many startup files as can fit are copied to the flash memory to speed up the boot time For real data buffering you need a lot more than that, you're talking in the Gb range now and if you want to get serious about it, you need to get a PCI/PCI-E hard drive card that has...

Hybrid hard drives soon to become commonplace?

Wouldn't it be better to make the drives with a socket for a flash card? Geez - I can pick up a 1Gb flash card for £23 at the moment and an entire 8-in-one card reader is only £15 Take away all the plastic parts and you're going to knock off quite a bit At the most it should cost about £20 more...

    ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi Edition

<sigh> It's a common failing I think I'm keeping logitech in the green with the amount of keyboards I have to buy - I seem to have a fascination with spilling things into them It's got to the point where I buy them in bulk to save time :p

    ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi Edition

I think that's for illustration of where they go :) When the cpu uses a standard heatsink/fan, the airflow blows through the heatpipe coolers but when you use watercooling you dont get any airflow and need the extra fan It's not mentioned in detail in the manual for this board, but in other...

    ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi Edition

Oh, a few other things 1)The microphone came with a sticky velcro thing in my package - one half on the microphone, the other on the monitor and no more falling off the back :) Also the reason it's got two microphones is that it's a noise cancelling version - it does a pretty good job of just...

    Slow Read Times?

Sorry for the late bump of the post If those fixes still don't take it out of PIO mode, go to device manager and uninstall the channel that has drive with PIO mode set and reboot (and then because it's windows, reboot again when it rediscovers the new hardware) That's always fixed it for me -...

    ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi Edition

The manual states that the fan is only to be used if are using a watercooled solution for your cpu - they include it in a lot of the motherboards with heatpipes Personally I use it to cool a hard drive - works great :)
