Kate OS 3 is nearing it's final stages, so I thought I would take a look at the recent beta. This is a lightweight distro with the goals of providing what you need to get a great system up and running, and also the security and efficency you need.
After reading the article, feel free to discuss it here!

Really good distro
some options, which e.g in slackware are deeply hidden, here are just under the right click of your mouse :]I agree that for now time, the only worry is that Nvidia and Ati didn't released drivers that support XOrg 7.1 ..so we must be patient, like always in the past. ps. nice review |

Thanks for the nice comments
![]() Yes.. the wait for new video drivers is hard.. very hard. I have to wonder what takes them so long, unless there have been massive changes between 7.0 and 7.1.

Interesting OS. I always like Slackware founded distros. Currently a VectorLinux fan myself.
![]() Going to have to check it out. ZenWalk is next on my list though, so I may not get that far. ZenWalk (formerly) MiniSlack is a XFCE Slackware-base distro. DrCR _____________ Life's source code may not be available, but we do have an instruction manual. |

Haha, the sig you used is similar to mine. ZenWalk is another one I want to check out actually, it looks pretty good. Going to install Free Spire today, just for fun. I've always disliked it, but never actually used it. So I need to give myself a reason to dislike it =)
