There are dozens of USB to IDE or SATA external drive enclosures on the market today. We take a look at a device that does SATA and IDE to USB conversion without an enclosure, the perfect piece of hardware for doing bench top drive testing...or is it?
After reading Matts review here, discuss it here!

On a side note I really wish that the power brick had an on/off button...

Hi, I am not sure what model you got, but the one we carry has an on/off switch: http://tekgems.com/Products/kl-usb-sata-ide-25-35.htm
Its a mixed blessing because a power supply brick will always be on. But the on/off switch does not change height when on or off. I consider that a design flaw, but it is not an issue for most people. |

While the packaging on the one you carry is identical to the Brando offering I know for certain that it had no power switch as I pulled it apart. If they're from the same source (and I'd safely assume so all things considered) the Brando version is likely older from a period before the vendor added a switch.
Thanks for the info!
