Default Blur - Twisted Metal Meets Need for Speed?

Are you craving a racing game but can't ignore your innate desire to just blow things up? If so, Bizarre Creations' Blur might be just what you're looking for. It two awesome things, destruction and speed, and results in a title that's full of eye candy, a good online mode, and a difficulty level that's sure to challenge even the most hardcore racer.

You can read our full look at Bizarre Creations' latest creation here, and once done, you can discuss it here!

It's not often that we publish a review for a game that's been out for a month, but this was a special case. I first loaded it up a couple of weeks ago while searching for new titles to benchmark with (this will become one of them), and after about an hour of playing it, I realized that I didn't want to just use it for benchmarking... I wanted to actually play it as well. So, how I could I resist writing up a review that pretty much wrote itself?

For those curious, the game ran at about 40 FPS on my PC at max detail, at 1920x1200, off a GeForce GTX 285. So, it does look to be a great title to use for benchmarking, given that the GTX 285 isn't a bad card and I was running at only 1920x1200.

I am not going to lie I really didn't look at the game at all. However after this review I think I may pick it up for my PS3 ( I know this is a PC review). Anybody try comparing this to Split Second they look very similar.

Split/Second is quite a bit different, although there is still some destruction involved. The premise of the game isn't like Blur, so that changes things up, and the destruction as far as I'm aware happens just with the cars themselves... meaning there are no weapons involved.

I downloaded a demo of Split/Second last month and it forced me to a resolution of 640x480, so I just gave up. I might give it another go soon though. I still have a feeling I'd prefer Blur, but Split/Second has been the game to get better ratings.
