If you want to get rid of that air CPU cooler, but find water-cooling too complicated and expensive, CoolIT might have just what you're looking for. Their Domino A.L.C. is designed to offer greater cooling-abilities over air, while retaining reasonable noise-levels. Best of all, it's inexpensive, at $80, and won't hold back your impressive overclocks.
You can read Bill's article on CoolIT's latest (and inexpensive) liquid cooler here and discuss it here!

How about a comparison graph with a Thermalright Ultra 120 or something similar included in the review, just to see how much more effective it is, or is it?

This is something we're working on for future cooling content. It's been hard to go back and find time to re-test things, but it's in the works.

How does it compare vs. the Pure ST (Skulltrail edition)?

This is very different from William Kelley's results in his review. I'm feeling a wee bit ![]() Oh, I should mention, his results are using a "Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 - Quad-Core, 3.0GHz, 1.30v". Mine are on an Intel i7 920, 2.67GHz, 1.2880V. Last edited by tseax; 03-02-2009 at 01:24 PM. |

I cannot compare it to the Pure ST since I do have that platform. Same goes for the i7 platform. I do know that the i7 does run hotter than the Core 2 Quads so that may be part of the problem. Not sure why your results seem so far off compared to mine. If you are getting better temps with the side panel off you have airflow issues. You have too much air coming in and not enough pushing out if you ask me, that will cause turbulence and disrupt airflow.
As for a comparison, I will be putting up a review for the Coolermaster V10 and V8 on this exact same platform so you will get a comparison that way. I also use this exact same platform for my last few and many future case reviews. http://techgage.com/article/nzxt_zero_2_full-tower/ and http://techgage.com/article/thermalt...ce_full-tower/ Again, looking over my results for these 2 reviews and paying attention that the only deviation in the CPU temperatures in them is the case. Everything else is identical. I'd honestly have to say either you installed it wrong or you have some other heat related issue.
