Default NuForce Icon-1 Amplifier and S-1 Speakers

NuForce isn't the first company to bring high-end audio to the desktop, but their first complete PC audio system blends trendsetting aesthetics and audiophile-quality performance to form one of the most intriguing new PC audio systems we've yet seen. Do the Icon-1 and S-1 provide a little slice of audiophilia on your desktop?

You can read Rory's in-depth review here and discuss it here!

Default Integrated Amplifier

Hi,

Integrated Amplifier does not mean stereo, it means pre-amp and amp in one unit. The preamp sets the volume, selects the channel etc (but outputs at line-level) and the amplifier brings that to speaker level. Besides being common preamps do not have to have multiple inputs, nor have to be stereo.

Nice catch. You're correct -- an integrated amplifier does in fact integrate the preamplifier and the amplifier into a single unit. It's also common for integrated amps to have more than one channel of amplification in the chassis.

The person responsible for the error will be promptly flogged. Oh, wait...
