Targeting newer photographers, the Nikon D60 is priced right and includes a fantastic feature set. On top of the 10MP sensor, the D60 includes an automatic sensor cleaner, a vibration reduction kit lens, fast 3FPS performance, high ISO modes and a lot more.

Specs-wise, the Canon is better. It's closer to the D80, which is obviously better than the D60 in certain ways. Like I said in the review, go to a camera shop and actually test both cameras out in your hands, and shoot a few sample pictures. Chances are good that one will feel better to you than the other.

If you have more money to spend, choose between either the D80 or the XSi... forget about the D60.
