Default Samsung 940UX

Hi,
I'm planning to get 2 Samsung 940UX LCD monitors. I'm currently using the IBM R50e notebook which is few years old and it's Windows XP OS. Is the monitor Vista compatible? I'm checking in case if my laptop crash and since now all new laptops are Window Vista. Do I have to check if my notebook is compatible with the monitor? Thanks a zillion!
