Default Genius HS-04U & HS-04V Headsets

Gaming headsets are more popular than ever, so it's no surprise to see such a wide selection available. Although there are some high-quality models available, we found out the hard way that the Genius HS-04U and HS-04V are not some of them.

You can read the full review here and discuss it here.

Unhappy Problems

I have been having major problems with the HS-04U headset since I installed them and after an hour or so on the internet looking for people sharing my problem I have had no such luck.

Here are my problems:
- when headphones plugged in; computer resets (usually after a random amount of time after startup but sometimes as soon as it goes to desktop)
- On startup; sometimes the headphones simply don't work (no sound and no way to use mic)
- Simply the worst distortion ever; basically when i play a game like Team fortress or something and I get a tiny amount of frame lag (say for about 1 second of 20 frames), in the time after that (lasting about 5 minutes or so) the sound will just be screwed up, you can tell its noise based on the sounds the game is trying to make, but its impossible to tell what it is and it really hurts your ears.
The last one also happens on the desktop at random times and makes listening to music impossible as the sound becomes incomprehensible noise.

If anyone can help me out I will appreciate it hugely.
my OS is Windows XP 32 and I have another sound driver installed (but supposedly it doesn't matter) which is the realtech HD audio system.

Thanks in advance...

Default This headset is awful

Run away. This thing stinks like a dogturd. Cheaply made and incompatible drivers. I tried to install this on three computers using the drivers included and downloading new drivers from their total lack of "support" site. You cannot control the volume in any way. This is the first thing I've returned in years.
