When Logitech’s X-540 5.1 speaker system came out, it set new standards of performance for the $99 price category. With their new X-240 2.1-channel system, Logitech once again aims to surpass the status quo. With its integrated stand for portable music players and its intelligent electronics, can Logitech manage the same feat again with the X-240?
You can read the full review here and discuss it here.

hi,
since i'm on a budget, i wonder whether one could recommend the new z-240 over the z-230. pricing seems to be about the same for both speakers. or are there any speakers in this league that are much better than the ones built by logitech? |

I am planning to use this as a cheap alternative speakers for my ps3. Using the 2 audio RCA output, can this be plugged into the speakers directly. if not, then what adaptor is required? (female RCA to male phono or female to female)?

I just purchased the Logitech X-240 2.1 Music Center Speaker System from BJ's for $39.99. Quite an attractive price and impressive sound for a small room set up. I connected this to my Gateway Laptop with ease right out the box.
First impressions were great! I did notice a lil hum at first but that was from the fluorescent desktop lamp. Turning this off the hum went away. Another desk lamp didn't produce the any hum at all. I listen to a lot of various types of music from DEEP BASS to Jazz and Vocals. All tested very well in my small office environment. These are NOT Bose Speakers but pretty great for the price! |

I blew the X-240 sub in two days. I was not pushing the system by any means and the sub-level was at half. Good thing I got the warranty. I upgraded to the X-540 and it was definately a good choice. I've never been happier with a desktop system.

the guy at KMART pointed out that this unit supported my iPod Nano. yet, when i checked the inventory and finally figured out which tray adapter suited my iPod (two are labled #3 and the other three are not labled), the tray adapter was simply the wrong one. there is only one tray adapter that suits my Nano's USB cable. the others are far too wide in their ports. the only that best fits my cable is too wide also. none of them are narrow enough in their ports while being large enough within to fit the cable head.
the phones jack won't fit while the charging adapter is plugged in. and vice versa. it seems that my particular 4th Gen silver Nano is sized differently than any other in the world. nawwww, couldn't be. i'm taking it back for refund ASAP. the cradle is wrong, or else i am. if i can be proven wrong by KMART, i'll consider keeping it despite its poor performance reviews. |
