Guild Wars, the hugely successful subscription-free fantasy MMO, now has its first sequel: Guild Wars 2. The developers promise a divergence from traditional MMO formulas, including those used by the original. Does this new direction hearld a new era of how we play MMOs, or is this an experiment that's gone awry?

Haha! Meh, give me GW2 any day. I was always tempted by this sequel but have a personal vendetta with NCsoft. It does look good though, and the world is just... amazing. Couple of mechanics I don't care for, but overall it looks solid. Will consider giving it a shot when it drops in price or inevitably goes F2P, haha.

I hear that. That's the reason I'll hold off until it goes down in price or something, or by some miracle I end up having a lot more time for a game like that. I am horrible with new MMOs... I want to play them 60 hours a week.
