Default OCZ Vertex 3 120GB - $70 ($85 before MIR)

No, that's not a typo. $70 to hook yourself up with a super-fast 120GB SSD from OCZ.

Preferably you can click one of the ads on the site for this deal, or just go here:

Wish I had it to invest in a pair. I could just imagine how fast a raid-0 array of those would be.

I hear that, on both accounts. That'd be a combined 1GB/s throughput in a RAID 0, and 240GB of space... for $140.

Only if you have a SATA III controller. I don't, I'm riding SATA II but still, it would max the controller out.

Well, unless all you do is copy files back and forth, SATA 3Gbit/s is more than suitable. For most people, it's the IOPS performance of SSDs that make them worthwhile, not the throughput. I wouldn't care if SSDs had the same throughput as a hard drive (~100MB/s). But a boost from 100 IOPS to 5,000? That's an improvement.

Are you going to be putting them in RAID, or using them separately? Either way, enjoy

Separate. I don't have anything that will benefit with raid at the moment.

I've got to ask why they're giving them to us so cheap?

OCZ might have some overstock, and given that the Agility 4s are out now, the company probably wants to clean shop. Plus, this is good marketing, and it's a promotion that only lasts this weekend - it's not a permanent price.
