I'm pretty sure that you are allowed to join the contest before you get 20 posts.

As long as you have the 20 posts by the contest deadline.

I will page the admin and ask him.

This contest is so easy, that even your little sister could do it! We have some great looking forums [jedi mind trick] and we wonder why they are not more popular! This is a simple contest... sign up to our forums and help them become more lively. In order to qualify in the contest, you must make a minimum of 20 non-spam messages and then post in our related contest thread. It's *that* easy.

After you have made 20 posts, post in this thread!

I think the bold part is pretty clear..........

It does not say "enter the contest, then make 20 posts" or "have 20 posts by the deadline".

It says:

AFTER YOU HAVE MADE 20 POSTS, POST IN THIS THREAD!

tugovony is right. Apparently it didn't go as planned originally, but as long as you have 20 posts by the end of it, you will be fine.

As of this very second, I'm over 20+ posts, therefore I'm qualified for the contest. Now I could of went back and deleted my original post, then posted ANOTHER post right now. Then I would of been in exact agreement with the letter of the rules for the contest. But doesn't it seem a little bit silly to have to do that? To delete my original post then post another one that is exactly the same as the one I just deleted?

Besides every single post you delete is not really deleted. When you delete a post and post another one, you end up with TWO posts on the board. The deleted post is not really deleted, but stays there. You end up wasting disk space too.

The Admin made a good call in not making everyone do that........but if he changes his mind, then I will just simply delete my original post and post another one. Would that make you happy fussnfeathers?

The general rule is to have 20 posts in order to enter the contest. The most important thing is that you have 20 posts prior to the contest ending.

When I said "Make 20 posts then post here", I didn't enforce that as a rule, because it's not meant to be a rule, but more of a recommendation. Since people looked at the thread, they said, "Hey, I will just save time and post now and then make 20 posts", I can understand it from their perspective.

They just did things out of order.. I don't see a serious issue here.
