Hmm, so all I have to really say about this is "hell yes!", because MotorStorm was a great racing game. Difficult as hell in some parts, but it was a really well-done off-road game with a kick-ass soundtrack.
The new one looks even better, since it takes place on some tropical island. It's like Crysis meets 4x4. Well, not at all, but whatever.

Now might be a good time to put the first one back in the machine and beat it (I am only half-way through because I'm a wimp).
