I see a couple other forums have this going on in their forums, and seems to do well. So if you are proud of your video card, feel free to post a picture of it!

Upload it to a image site like Photobucket, and link to the picture with (img)http://website.com/image.jpg(/img).. replacing the ('s with [ and ].

Imagine if you will a BFG 6800GT OC with a crappy NV5 Silencer on it and there you have my video card. Got a Zalman VF700 on the way, even if it doesnt cool any better than the NV5, which it cant do much worse, it will still be better than the stock heatsink and it will match my Zalman 7000Cu :)

Rob Williams

Happen to have temp problems with your 6800GT OC?

I hate mine.

Greg King
07-15-2005, 08:31 PM
What drivers are you using? I was loving my beanchmark scores with the 75.90's but the drivers caused faulty temp readings. I am not sporting the 71.89 forcewares and they are much more realistic. The 6800's no matter the version all run hot. They are the Intel's of the GFX realm. What temps are we talking about?

When my VF700 comes in, you can have be NV5 if you would like it.

Are you going to email me back?

Purdy.... i love black on computer parts.

I also like how NVIDIA managed to make that a single slot card. Mine used to be a single slot card.... then i messed with it.

Rob Williams

Yeah, I love single slot cards. I've never had a double slot one, and I hope to never have a double slot one.

Man, i just deleted a bunch of pics off of Image Shack. I have some nice shots of my 5900XT I need to dig up and get on here. AFAIK, it still holds the #1 spot in 3DMark05 using FM approved drivers with a score of 1515. (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=805745)

Nice looking cards man. The green PCB looks just like my 7800GT, and the blue one like my 6800GT. They certainly didn't seem to change too much.

madmat
11-08-2005, 10:52 PM
When the 5900U came out this was the second card to hit the market and when I bought it it cost a friggen mint...$550.00.

Yeah, they haven't really changed the PCB's much since the FX series came out, to me it looks like a little minor design changes with a different GPU soldered on although I'm sure they're considerably different under the skin.

Sweet pics of your cards, guys ;) I would post up mine, but my lowly ATI 8500 LE just doesn't cut it anymore :( (don't worry, an upgrade is about to take place ;) )

I like the molded tops myself, I have both the APOGEE and MCW60 with molded tops................;) As a matter of fact, I also have the Storm CPU block and with both CPU and GPU water cooled, I get better performance using the APOGEE and MCW60 than I did when I tried the Storm with the MCW60.

I may as well post what my cards look like side by side. The Accelero is not even _that_ much taller than the Silencer. If only it was a few mm shorter, it would fit in my case with the door closed.

The Accelero is sweet but I like the NV5 more. The Accelero isn't even a big improvement in my view from the NV5.

I'll wait for that new Zalman. I like my NV5, not sure if it cools any better than the original heatsink though. Swiftech has a nice water block for the new Nvidia cards. I may look into it if or when I go with wc'ing.

I have to agree, the new Zalman looks pimp.

Whoops. That's what the block I was thinking of. I saw a pic on ebay one day and I thought I remember seeing Swiftech. After some searching I came upon that block there, which is the product I saw.

sbrehm72255
03-06-2006, 11:44 PM
Those are extremely low flow blocks (1/4 inch tubing) but they will do the job I guess. There are other mono blocks the perform much better if you're looking at a all in one solution. All in ones are easier to use for some people but offer less performance that a GPU blocu and some simple ram sinks. I know of numorus people that have dumped their high dollar all in one mono blocks for the simple and cheaper better performing GPU block.
But like they say, if works for you and makes you happy............:) then all is good.........;)

Rob Williams
03-07-2006, 11:34 AM
Ahh that's cool. I don't know why, but I tend to prefer living in the city. I am not crazy about noise, but I just like being close to everything. Of course, out in the country the air is much cleaner, hah.
