I am still in shock AND mourning over this price. I spent nearly $250 for my processor when it came out only to watch that price fall by nearly $125. I don't even want to look at online prices anymore..........

The QX6850 is $1,179:

As for the Q6600 at $289... it's incredible. I paid $377.85 (before taxes) for an E6600 this past February.

$299 at NewEgg. That would be the equivelent of $315CAN, or around there... so essentially NewEgg charges $25 more for the CPU than NCIX does.

That's nothing. I paid $250 for this 4800+ about 3 1/2 months ago myself.......

Wow, I don't know how I missed the Xeons. Check out the Xeon X3210 @ $230. (http://forum.ncixus.com/forums/index.php?mode=showthread&msg_id=1391270&threadid=1391270&forum=216&product_id=25434&msgcount=2&overclockid=0#msg1391270) Only 2.13ghz stock, but one of the members linked to Coolaler's forum (http://forum.coolaler.com/showthread.php?t=158006), and needless to say, you shouldn't have a problem hitting 2.4ghz or more.

Until I saw this thing, I was pretty much sold on an E6750 for the next upgrade - now the waters are murky again.

Edit....Coolaler's sig has some interestign links as well.
