First, thanks a lot Ben for all the hard work in getting the forums to the state they are today. I know there was a lot of head-scratching and tweaking to get things looking just right. I am quite pleased with the overall result, but would love opinions from the general audience, so everyone please feel free to throw in your $0.02.

Wow! I really like this design. I was shocked as much as I would be if GM came up with an original attractive design for one of their own cars.

not entirely sure what you did but the lines in the columns and rows are not as bold... Or maybe I'm more used to them.

I still do not like the color changes between columns.

I have added the latest forum posts to the main page. We are still tweaking the placement and looks of this, but its now even easier to see the recent activity.

I may consider adding the most recent posts to the forum index if there is enough interest.

I like the inclusion of the new forum posts on the main page. I think it could certainly look better, but I absolutely love the idea.

As for the overall look and feel of the forums, I love them. I didn't at first but the more I use them, the more they just look heads and shoulders better than the last one. The one idea that I have, and I know its been brought up in the past by others, as well as myself, is the left side bar. It would be nice if it could either extend all the way to the bottom or the threads extend out once the page is past that side bar. Here is an example. It's a forum here in Indy that I frequent and I love the new design there.

Quite frankly... I could click out of the new thread i was looking at and into something else only to have the new posts reset to w/e i just posed as being the only new post...

I think the forums really look consistent with the rest of the site now. Don't put in too much more effort on the forums until the rest of the site gets a new graphics and layout package.

As a recent subscriber to this forum, but a participant on many others, my initial impression that this one looks pretty good. However, it is the content that makes them work, but after looking through the rest of the site, it looks you have that covered as well! :-)

A buddy of mine told be about this site cause of the Tabula Rasa Beta, but after going through the forum, I think its a really awesome forum. I'm normally not one for forums, but this is one that i can totally get into. Thanks.
