I work at Staples and we have an Maxtor 80 gig HDD for $8.45. I don't know if this is local deal or nationwide. Yeah yeah, it's only IDE but will serve as a nice backup drive.

Dammit.... I have and 80gig HD Sata tho.....I bought it round this time last year... ****ing Dell...Thank god I upgraded my machine...now just to get a 500GB HDD and 2 160GB HD for raid.

Heh, one week we ran out of standard staples....har har....every customer thought they were funny making jokes about it.

I'll see if I can stop by my local Staples to take a look. It's been a long time since I've seen a decent deal on anything storage related at a brick and motor.

I was able to snag a 250GB hard drive for ~50 a while back at Circuit City. That's the only exception. ;)

The only decent deal I found was an external 400GB drive for $69.99 after rebate. Someone else might have better luck.

Heh, I just found out that the price was an error which was fixed 2 days after my posting. Now it's back to it's reg price of 50 bucks.
