Say I tore the thing off of it's base, ala Master Chief. Could I walk around tearing shit up with that thing?

Probably not at a distance, but if you strapped it to your chest, you'd always be guaranteed to get to the front of the line while at the supermarket.

What if I set it up to shoot through a magnifying glass? Would that give me a longer range? (This is getting silly)
