What Do You Think Of The Pentium D?

I have heard and know the C2D is the best.

But is the PD a good chip for its price?

Does it overclock well?

Drop your input here.

C2D you would get better bang for the buck.

I don't know from experience how well they overclock, but it is so far Core 2's inferior that unless one can be had for next to nothing, I wouldn't bother with it. It's a CPU, thats about it.

How much is the C2D 4300?

How fast is it?

Does it overclock well?

Worth it?

E4300 can be found online for around $115. It's 1.8 GHz. It has a lower front side bus than the E6xxx line of chips but it makes up for that with a higher multiplier. It should overclock like crazy but with anything that you are overclocking, results may vary. And yes, that chip, for the money, is well worth it. Especially when put up against the Pentium D you were asking about originally.

Yeah.

I really don't have the money to fork out $600 on a computer.

Don't expect anything stellar in that case.

Any X2. You can get a cheap AM2 motherboard. Or, you can get a socket 939 X2 and look around for a decent deal on a motherboard. That way you can still use your RAM.
