The first thing I think of when I see something funny is to tap the Prnt Scrn button. This contest assumes most do.

I expect this to be one of our better contests. I have seen countless funny game screenshots before, so I know they are out there.

Try a certain program called Fraps. Runs quietly in the background and lets you take as many screenshots/videos as your HDD can stand (assignable hotkeys for both). It also doubles as a benchmark and lets you see your FPS in-game.

Yeah, I just remembered, I have FRAPS. It is a nice program. Too bad this contest can't contail videos, only pictures though. Thanks for the idea. :)

If you mean cropped or removal of something profane, no that wouldn't be a problem. Editing the photo to make it funny is not allowed.

Right, no editing whatsoever. It's not fair to anyone who submitted a pure screenshot. There are enough instances when games can be profane themselves though, like in the Swat and HL screenshots already submitted ;-)

Hi!

It's my first time here, so I'd like to introduce myself: I'm TangoDelta :)

(OK, the official part is over...)

Now, I've got one question about screen capture. I know, that I can make a picture with PrintScreen/Fraps/whatever. But: I've got some videos (made in Fraps by the way) from my gaming sessions. It's possible to extract single frames from my videos and save them as normal pictures. And now, comes my question: is this OK with the rules?

I mean: these videos are made by ME, no downloaded content or anything...

BTW: Great idea for a contest... finally my long hour 'I've got you now!' sessions with Fraps can be of good use...

As long as the screenshot indeed does belong to you, I don't see why you can't take a screenshot from a vid you made but as always Rob has the last word.
