I know I am basic here but is there a way to protect a partioned hard drive via a password? :confused:

You may want to try this out (http://www.softstack.com/hidedrv.html).
Never used it, but it looks like something you could use. You can't simply password protect a harddrive through Windows, though.

You can secure your portable hard drive with a Data Locker. www.lockerdrive.com This thing uses a touch screen to let you use a PIN code to have access to your data only.

The latest version of http://www.truecrypt.org/ allows you to encrypt an entire partition and is pretty damn secure.
